I was taken to this restaurant by a Nepalese acquaintance. My cynicism of good indian/indian like food in restaurants was with me when i was taken to the restaurant but i was pleasantly surprised by the coziness of the restaurant and the good homely taste of the food. My favorite dishes were: Momos (i like to call these indian gyozas with indian masalas), springrolls (indian chinese style with sweet and spicy noodles), channa chat, vegetable sizzler and ceasar salad. Most of their dishes are non-vegetarian but if you call them in advance they can make most of the food vegetarian. I highly recommend all vegetarians to visit this place just once, reasonably priced too!

The place doesnt have unbelievably good food for great price, if anything the food is above average, great wine list and NishiAzabu prices (so slightly more than reasonable) but i like the ambiance, i enjoy Mediterranean food and i find this place to be quite cosmopolitan with diverse clientele. It is a personal recommendation, they have very limited vegetarian dishes so keep that in mind.

I have completed 2.5 years in Japan. I guess i can call 2008 my `settling in` year (though i am still rebelling)…i focussed on my job and spent more time at work than i wished to but learnt alot and had some very interesting experiences least to say. Highlights of this year would have to be the visits of my close friends to Tokyo (Lily, Gauri & Adi), our family trips to Thailand and Hakone and one of the best holidays i have ever had in a long long time to Okinawa with Kishore. Some of our memorable moments would have to include the following: Kishore almost losing his wedding ring in the snow (first time i ever saw him in a panic!), receiving a 3D panda cake for Valentine`s (very cute but major issue trying to fit it into the fridge!), deafening Kishore with my singing throughout the Celine Dion concert in Tokyo, Kishore camping out overnight to get a picnic spot for 20 of us for the summer festival, my first and probably last experience of Japanese wine country in sweltering heat (least to say i was unimpressed with their wine!), Kishore taking on a new love in his life - his new camera and finally the both of us climbing Mt.Takao as a practice climb in prep for climbing Mt.Fuji next year ;).

We continue to grow together in our marriage and the rollercoaster continues to go up and down but through it all i am enjoying having Kishore as my partner…it`s fun. We look forward to the next year with hopes for good health and happiness and more quality time with our families. We are excited to have added to our family a new member recently in the form of Nimmi`s husband Mahesh - we wish them both the very best in married life and adding many new friends into our circle of friends in Tokyo. We look forward to next year with the same hopes of adding many more friends and family members.

This year my parents and i lost 2 very close family members and i would like to remember them for the beautiful people they were and to let them know that my parents and i always think of them and miss them. My mother`s elder sister, my Maasi - she was a beautiful soul…the most caring mother, maasi, grandmother and sister…we all loved her very much and my only regret is that Kishore did not have the chance to meet her in person. I love you Maasi. My father`s cousin, Uncle Jewat whom we lost shortly after my Maasi - he was one of the smartest and coolest uncles i had, after all he was a flight engineer, as close to a pilot i could get to! He was loving husband, father, friend, cousin and uncle - he would have the most passionate debates with anyone about politics, sports, anything under the sun and i had really wanted him to meet with Kishore since i knew they would have gotten along like a house on fire. We miss you very much Uncle and we shall always have you in our thoughts.

Year 2009 - so much to do, learn and accomplish….here is wishing all of you a very safe, peaceful and happy year ahead. With lots of Love, Pritty and Kishore

Back in Japan, I told Pritty that next time I will do a better job at this whole wedding thing and she told me that SHE does not want to go through this again and that if I want to have a wedding again, I need to find someone else!

Fuji before, but always from the shinkansen, so I thought it would be cool to get up close and personal, so Pritty and I took them for a drive!

Unfortunately, the roads to the 5th station were closed due to snow, and initially even a distant view was obscured by clouds. But luckily the clouds went away and we got probably the clearest view of Mt. Fuji to date!
